Escaleras

I was posting a lot of old stuff, so let's change it.

Die Alone is an screamo band from México, D.F. that started their screamy journey in 2012. They don't sound a lot like others bands, and this is amazing. Anyways, their music is clearly more influenced by the european screamo than by the american sound. IMO, they sound a bit like a mix of Raein and Tristan Tzara, but don't take it so seriously. I don't have a lot to say about this band, they have a bandcamp, so check it. Bandcamp.

Jasemine - Discography

Sorry for using the fucking demo cover for this post, but there aren't pics of this band on the internet.

This band. This one. This is the most underrated emo band ever. It was basically Finger Print without the singer. Some of their songs were formerly composed for Finger Print (Choix is the only song both bands recorded), so expect a similar sound. But the level of intensity and emotion of this shit is absurdly bigger than Finger Print's. French emo with some metal influences (some riffs could easily be new school hardcore ones) and some of the best vocals you will ever hear in a french emo/screamo band. Perfect.

They released a demo, a split with another french emo band called Ivich (maybe the first french emo band) and another split with Elements of Need, an early-screamo/emocore band from the USA.

The demo has four songs and each split has two songs that are two songs of the demo re-recorded, so this band only has four songs, but I uploaded the demo and the splits because both versions of each song are very different. Download.

The Notorious Love Affair - 7"

THIS BLOG IS NOT DEAD.

After a short stop, I'm back with more murder records for you. I said in the Degarne's post that I'm a big fan of Bremen Hardcore/Per Koro/"Northcore"/whatever the fuck you want to call it. So, yes, this is Bremen stuff.

This band was fucking short lived (they didn't play any shows) and had members of Narsaak, Stack, Floodgate, The Fisticuffs Bluff and some more bands. Yeah, this band had members from Germany and also from the USA. Apocalyptic riffs, screaming voices, dark melodies, heavy drumming, emotive parts, personal lyrics, pure Bremen. Dig it. Download.

VA - All The President's Men

Compilations are cool. Emo 90s is cool. Emo 90s compilations are very fucking cool. This compilation is the coolest thing.

This compilation LP was released back in '94 (almost 20 years, lol) by Old Glory Records, a cool label from Vermont that also released stuff by Iconoclast, Policy of 3, Assfactor 4, In/Humanity and even Jeromes Dream and Funeral Diner.

This one is an amazing compilation. The list of bands is totally impressive, with bands of the USA, obviously, but also french, german and canadian bands. It includes the next bands: Assfactor 4, Maximillian Colby, Julia, Finger Print, Policy of 3, Hoover, Acme, Ordination of Aaron, Shotmaker and Hose Got Cable. Awesome, right? Well, download it and you won't regret. Word. Download.

Degarne - The Last Dance

PER KORO IST KRIEG.

LONG LIVE TO BREMEN.

Well, after this, you can assume I love Bremen Hardcore. It's true. I FUCKING LOVE Bremen Hardcore. It's the perfect music for me. So expect tons of Bremen Hardcore bands.

Degarne is one of the later and less-known Bremen Hardcore bands (I don't know if they were from Bremen, but they have definitely that sound). Think of Acme and add a lot of dark melodies and screaming vocals (to keep the kids screaming and dancin' whether they are Romulan emo kids or crusty Klingons). Sounds sweet, doesn't it?

They also released another 7" and a song on the Idiomes compilation, but I think this is their best stuff by far. Another underrated Bremen band. Worth checking out. Download.

Arse Moreira - Discography Tape

You are living the biggest lie ever if you are into screamo/emoviolence and you don't know Arse Moreira.

Can Louise Cyphre be even more perfect? Yes, they can. But not as Louise Cyphre.

Arse Moreira were four guys from México who play german emoviolence. No more, no less.

And they were the best in what they used to do.

If you like Louise Cyphre, you'll love Arse Moreira.

If you love Louise Cyphre, you'll die by a brain stroke if you listen to Arse Moreira.

If you love Arse Moreira, you are one of these people on Earth who know what they do.

Download.

How many times do you have to die to forget?...

Heroin - S/T 7"

CLASSIC STUFF FOR YOU, GUYS.

Everybody knows Heroin. And everybody loves Heroin. They were one of the first "screamo" bands. They played a frantic mix of emocore and hardcore. Short songs (the longest lasts only for 2:33), chaotic noise and screams. That's all you need to love them. IMO, the highlight of this 7" is Blindly, the fastest, shortest and most chaotic song here. "Masterpiece" is an offense to this. Download this crappy file or die. Download.

Dollores - S/T EP

Ex-URSS countries are the best countries. At least if you are looking for cool screamo.

Dollores is (I think they didn't break up yet) a emo/screamo band from Ukraine. They play sweet emo/screamo with dual vocals, female screams and male singing. Like Leidan but with inverted roles.
The only thing I don't like at all about this band are the lyrics. They look so simple for what I expect of a screamo band. I think it's because they don't write their lyrics in ukrainian and their english is not so good (well, my english is pure shit and I'm writing this crappy blog, so I think I should close my fucking mouth). Anyways, cool stuff. They have another EP, but I prefer this one. If you want to check their other stuff, go to their bandcamp: Bandcamp. And now the EP: Download.

Arabian Shaped, Guillermo

Obscure spanish stuff for you. After a bit of procrastination (sorry), I'm back with three (3) posts tonight. Expect cool noise.

Arabian Shaped, Guillermo was a screamo/emoviolence band from Spain (I don't know from which city, sorry). They played a mixture of melodic screamo a la Suis La Lune or Raein with a german emoviolence (Louise Cyphre, Killed By Malaise, you know). I don't have a lot of information about these guys, so it'll be a short post. Cool stuff, but the sound quality is very very bad. If you don't have any problem with this, check their stuff right now. Download.

Soramame - S/T 7"

BIELAAARRGGGHH!

Soramame was a hardcore (to say something) band from Badalona (near Barcelona), Spain. I'd say "to say something" because they are hard to tag. They mixed fastcore, powerviolence, grindcore and even emoviolence to create an ultra-fast noise, like a faster, heavier and more chaotic version of E-150. Vocals consist basically in high pitched screams and some deep growls, both done by the same guy (such a good vocalist). I don't know the lyrics, but they are probably ironic or even nonsense. I don't have a lot if information about these guys, but they are very very cool and you should check them. Download.

Leadershit / Derrota - Split

Crust for the crusties. Yes, if you thought I was going to post only emo and screamo you were wrong. I'll also post crust and neocrust. Yes, screamo and crust, very original combination, I know. Fuck, it's the music I like, it's the music I post.

This split was released back in 2007 by Trabuc Records, an influential record label from Valencia that had released a lot of amazing records since 2004 and a german label called Be-Part Records. It includes 4 songs by Leadershit and 6 songs by Derrota (2 of them are covers of Disyouth (a crust band from Valencia where some members of Derrota used to play) and Misfits (if you need information about this band you are a waste, dude)).

Leadershit was a crust band from Barcelona, Spain. It was formed by ex-members of Ekkaia, Cop on Fire, Cementerio Shöw, Disface, Caos ÖK and Karton de Vino, so you can assume that they are FUCKING GOD TIER. They are not the perfect crust punk band, but if you like crust, you'll like Leadershit. A classic crust base with a lot of dark melodies, apocalyptic riffage, two (sometimes even three) voices and constant d-beats. They only have this split and a self-titled 12". I personally can't choose between those two records, just awesome.

Derrota is a rocking crust band from Valencia, Spain. Their members played in a lot of bands before and during Derrota, so I can't name them all. Just to name a few: Zanussi, Adiaphöria, Disyouth, Anti-Playax, Disparo and Desguace. In their first records they played a dark and heavy sludge-influenced crust. They changed their style over the years and now they play a more punkish crust sometimes near to crust'n'roll, but still with some sludge and stoner elements. In my opinion, this is their best work. Here they don't sound too sludge or stoner neither too punk, just perfect balance. Fast, dark and heavy crust punk with some sludgy slow parts. Download.

Enoch Ardon

I'm lazy today (I just woke up 30 minutes ago after 3 hours of sleep), so this won't be a complicated post. But it doesn't mean that this will be an useless one, because ENOCH ARDON IS BACK.

Enoch Ardon is an emoviolence band from Oviedo, Spain. They were active between 2005 and 2008 and during this time they released a 7", a 12" and a song on The Emo Apocalypse compilation. Also, they toured Spain in 2006 and Europe in 2007. They played a frantic and melodic brand of emoviolence, obviously influenced by bands like Orchid, Tristan Tzara or Reversal of Man (their name is also the name of a song by Reversal of Man and it's obviously not a coincidence).

Now they're back and they will tour Spain with Loma Prieta in september. In my opinion, this will be a kick-ass tour and I hope to see them (more for these guys than for Loma), but unfortunately, they won't visit my city. Well, let's stop with all these useless words. They just created a bandcamp and you can check all their stuff there. Do it. Check their bandcamp.

Invierno

Let's stop with the violent stuff. Invierno is an emo band from Chile. They started their journey as a band in early 2010 as a side project of the post-hardcore band Remission. They play emo in the vein of Texas Is The Reason (I'm pretty sure that they are one of their main influences) with emotional and maybe a bit too melodramatic lyrics that will reach your heart if you are a native spanish speaker. If you are not, maybe they are not a very interesting or special band, but if you like that kind of emo, you'll like it. All their stuff is available for free on bandcamp, so download all their stuff right now. Check their bandcamp.

12 Aullidos - S/T 7"

Yesterday I didn't post because I was watching the Pokémon World Championships (MY LIFE IS SO INTENSE), so today I'll give you two posts instead of one.

First of all, sorry for the low quality image, I didn't find a big one and my copy is a reissue with another cover. 12 Aullidos was an emoviolence band from Málaga, Spain. They were active in the late 90s and the first years of the 2000s. Their sound is very chaotic and intense, like a less mathy american emoviolence or a less melodic german emoviolence. This is why I can't tag them as screamo, in fact, they are even nearer to powerviolence than to screamo. Think of Charles Bronson, In/Humanity, Eurich or Palatka and then you'll know what I'm talking about. Also, they were one of the first screamo or emoviolence bands from Spain, and definitely the first emoviolence one. A discography LP was released in 2006, but I think the 4 songs of this 7" are their best stuff by far, so I prefer to post this rather than the discography (that includes low quality unreleased songs and that kind of stuff, anyways, if you want the full discography, google is your friend). I think they toured Europe in the early 2000s, if you think this is a quality indicator, go check this. Download.

Yusuke

Mmm Ryan, I want your dick so hard :$
Today I completely forgot about the blog, so I'll be short. Yusuke is an emoviolence band from a town of Illinois whose name I can't remember. They are amazing dudes and they play amazing emoviolence in the european vein, with a sound reminiscent of Louise Cyphre or The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra. Raw and emotive noise and high-pitched screams. Amazing. They are going to release splits with Löri Berensön (screams from Perú) and Delos (more screams from Germany), so stay in tune. For now, they have a demo, a tape with the songs of the demo re-recorded plus one more song and a song for the Swollen Lungs Compilation (I'll post it as soon as it can be downloaded from bandcamp). IMO, their best stuff is the tape and the song for the comp. Check their bandcamp.

Anomie / Peu Être - Split

More splits for you. A classic. "Friendly split corporation". Nothing describes better this little piece of vinyl than these 3 words.

Anomie is probably the most well known french emo band of the 90s, so if you are into emo and you don't know them, you are a fucking waste. Female vocals, emo/hardcore/crust and amazing social and political lyrics. Essential. This split is not their best work, but it doesn't mean that the two songs of this split are bad.

Peu Être was a TOTALLY AMAZING and underrated french emo band that shared members with Carther Matha. Some members of Peu Être later formed 2138 and the famous Amanda Woodward, so if you are into Amanda Woodward, you should listen to this and you'll get a great surprise. Download.

Inquiry Last Scenery / El Eje Del Mäl - Split

Splits, splits. But not another 4 way. Two bands, two countries (Malaysia and Spain), one attitude. DIY up your ass. Inquiry Last Scenery is another malaysian emoviolence band. And as always when we are speaking about malaysian emoviolence, they are an amazing band. They have a demo and more splits, but I really don't know, sometimes is hard getting information about these malaysian bands.

El Eje Del Mäl was a band from Alicante, Spain. Some people say that they went from worse to better, but I think they were always an interesting band. They started playing screamo/emoviolence in the vein of Orchid and later turned into a sort of raw math-rock/emoviolence/punk band. This late sound reached their peak in this split. Good stuff, dig it or die. Download.

VA - This Is Your Life

Time for a compilation. This will be basically the modus operandi of the blog: full discographies of bands, splits, compilations and individual releases (of bands with extense discographies, classic albums, stuff like that). It's common, but I feel the necessity of telling you that, because some blogs don't upload compilations, or just upload full discographies, or just individual releases, bah.

This 2xLP was released by the swiss label Ape Must Not Kill Ape back in 2004, almost ten years ago. It includes mainly screamo and emo bands from Europe (also bands of other genres and some bands of the USA or Asia). The bands are the following (prepare yourself for a very long list): Cleaner, Raein, The Third Memory, Katyn, Daïtro, My Precious, Room Two37, Utarid, La Quiete, Apollo Program, Francis Brady, Bravo Fucking Bravo, Snowman, Wilderness Medicine, Humousexual, The Pine, Catena Collapse, Belle Epoque, The Machines Will Take Over, Lobo's Son, A Light In The Attic, Sheltek, Simfela, Gantz and Tidal.

Some of these bands are very famous, so maybe there are some of your favorites. Some tracks are exclusive, some have appeared in discographies of the bands, some are taken off from demos. Anyways, it is a very good compilation with tons of amazing bands, some of them well known, some of them totally underground. Dig it. Click to download.

Utarid / Am I Dead Yet / The Mock Heroic / A Fine Boat, That Coffin! - 4 Way Split

Now it's time for a split. And this one is one of my favourite splits ever. It includes 4 amazing bands, one from Malaysia and three from Europe. This split was released for a tour all over Europe that the bands did together in 2005.

Utarid is a classic malaysian band that you should know (and if not, don't worry, I'll post their full discography soon): emoviolence with a sound reminiscent of european bands like Tristan Tzara. Am I Dead Yet was a short-lived belgian emoviolence band with a raw sound in the german vein. The Mock Heroic was a british emoviolence band, I don't have a lot of information about them, but they are very cool. And finally we have A Fine Boat, That Coffin! an amazing german band, playing a chaotic, frantic and experimental brand of emoviolence, sadly underrated, their 6 minutes track in this split is perfectly their best song.

This is an amazing split and you can't miss it. Click here to download.

Ôkban - Discography

In this post, the first true post, I will show you one of my favorite bands ever. Ôkban was a band from Langreo, Asturias, Spain active in the late 90s and the first half of the 00s. Their sound was very original in my opinion: in their first two demos (released in 1998 and 2000) they played a crust-influenced french emo, after that they started to include more and more crust influences in their third demo (titled Hiperestesia, they also added a second vocalist here) and creating a pure neocrust sound in their first (and last) LP: the amazing La Lluvia No Cesará (The Rain Will Not Cease). After the LP, they released a split with the spanish neocrust titans Ictus, probably their most famous work. Then they reduced their activity, and finally they disbanded with the death of one of the vocalists, Rubén Zafra (R.I.P.). Intense Emo-Crust. Download their full discography here: Ôkban - Full Discography
